I just can't remember...

I did have an idea for a blog post this evening but it's gone.

Another nice evening - I went down to 4th after I finished the bags for Crow - hung out there for a while, caught dinner with Ryan, Jenn, and Eric at Lindy's, and now I'm ready to go to bed at ten o'clock at night... but that's probably because I got up at seven thirty this morning.

I was invited to Jenn's bridal shower on Monday (Monday, right?) and need to figure out a good gift - not sure what to get her but it was very nice to be invited.

Oh - I just remembered what I wanted to post about - New Year's resolutions. God they make me laugh. I'm going to lose weight - stop smoking - be on time - change my attitude - save money - start this - finish that - be more this - be less that - blah blah blah blah blah. I'm sorry but if these things were really important to you, you wouldn't wait for the new year to have an "excuse" to focus on them. Just because the calender rolled over to another year doesn't mean there's any "fresh start" to the way you live your life. Just like when people have birthdays - you don't wake up on your birthday being a year wiser than you were the day before, you're just a day older. I've fallen victim to the whole, "start the new year off on a good/different foot," but really, it's just another day, not a new beginning. There are many things I'd consider a new start and the new year or a birthday or an anniversary isn't one of them. /rant.

And now, five days of work - a bridal shower - trip to Ikea - Craig Ferguson performance - and then a break again.

If it inspires people to make change, it's not a bad thing.

The people who roll with the inspiration are good things, but I'm talking about the majority of people who go on and on about NYR's and are just January Joiners who give up on their goals a week or a month down the road and end up being worse off then they were before they made their NYR.
